The facade is sleek and modern at the DoubleTree by Hilton Lodz, and so are amenities like free Wi-Fi and a soothing spa. Rising 12 stories, the glass-and-steel DoubleTree by Hilton debuted in the summer of 2013. It's on the site of a former film studio, and here and there are reminders of the building's cinematic history. Done up in creamy whites, the 200 rooms and suites are bright and airy, thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows. Everything's completely up to date, including the 50-inch flat-panel TVs and docks for your electronic devices. Wi-Fi access is free, and robes and slippers hang in the luxurious bathrooms. Besides sweeping views, the top-floor spa has an indoor swimming pool, a whirlpool and a sauna. If you're feeling active, head to the fitness room. There's a cozy bar and an international restaurant, but if you need more privacy, there's also room service. Complimentary coffee is always available in the lobby. Pets are allowed, and parking is free. In the center of Lodz, the DoubleTree by Hilton overlooks Poniatowski Park, where you'll find jogging paths and tennis courts. Nearby is Piotrkowska Street, one of the city's main commercial strips. About two miles away is Manufaktura, a shopping and entertainment complex that preserves some of the city's interesting industrial architecture. Lodz Kaliska Railway Station is less than a mile away, and three miles southwest is Lodz Wladyslaw Reymont Airport. If downtown is your destination, you can't do much better than the DoubleTree by Hilton Lodz, which offers free Wi-Fi and coffee service, a spa, an indoor pool and a fitness center.
