Hotel Details

Set on a hill overlooking Val d’Orcia, a Unesco World Heritage, Castello Di Velona is a restored 10th-century castle. It features a Tuscan restaurant and a 1500 m2 spa center (Additional charge). The property is also reachable via helicopter and there is a helipad on site. The Velona’s rooms are spacious and luxuriously furnished, offering views of Tuscan vineyards. They are uniquely decorated with antique furniture and embroidered fabrics. Each one is air conditioned and features a log fire, a marble bathroom, and satellite TV channels. The rooms located in the new wing of the castle include a patio and a spa bath in the bathroom. The Castello offers regional cuisine, accompanied by the property's own Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino wines and extra virgin olive oil. Both the Velona Lounge Bar and the gourmet restaurant Settimo Senso feature a terrace. The OLISPA is an oasis of pure relaxation that extends over an area of 1500 square yards in travertine stone : the wet area offers a Jacuzzi, two Turkish baths, a sauna, emotional showers and ice falls. The thermal water that flows at 85 ° comes directly from Mount Amaiata, and made to flow directly inside the Castle and in the bathrooms of the Unesco View rooms. The entrance to the OLISPA is free of charge for our guests. Sant’Antimo Abbey is 1.2 mi from the property, and Siena is a 30-minute drive away. Parking is free at the Velona.
