O edifício que acolheu em tempos as oficinas que estanhavam as loiças da Casa Real, deve o seu nome a este passado, o qual é evidenciado em todos os recantos do imóvel. Segundo o relato de um documento dactilografado, pesquisado na Biblioteca de Estudos Olissiponenses, este edifício terá sido a antiga morada de uma estanharia fundada pelo Marquês de Pombal para estanhar as loiças da Casa Real —“as portas tinham cada uma delas uma coroa real e o seguinte dístico: Officina da RealCasa”. Os nossos 11 apartamentos foram cuidadosamente concebidos para lhe proporcionar o máximo conforto e prazer.
