Glorious gardens and a longstanding art gallery are part of the unique charm of the non-smoking Bodega Bay Inn on California's beautiful Sonoma County coast. This family-owned and -operated three-story inn has just six rooms, each uniquely decorated but all non-smoking and outfitted with a California King-sized bed, cable TV, VCR player and high-speed internet access. Some have jetted tubs. Filled with original art by local artists, the inn includes a common room where refreshments are available throughout the day (guests also help themselves to board games, puzzles, books and videos) and two spacious gardens, front and back, featuring hundreds of plant varieties plus free-form concrete sculptures, a grotto with a water fountain and a fire pit that's lit nightly, effectively creating an outdoor lounge. Parking is free. The inn is a half-mile from Bodega Bay, a quaint fishing village on the coast and a popular bird-watching site. It's less than 10 miles to Sonoma Coast State Beach and within an hour's drive of many of Sonoma's top wineries. San Francisco International Airport is 80 miles away.
